Sri Radha fully controls Sri Krishna

'Due to the inconceivable love of Srimati Radharani, Lord Krishna becomes easily controlled by Radha. Just as a beautiful young girl may play with so many dolls of stuffed animals, similarly LordKrishna becomes just like a doll in the hands of the most beautiful young girl Srimati Radharani. Accordring to Srila Jiva Goswami, Srimati Radharani performed innumerable types of worship in order to bind Krishna more and more to Her, because Radha cannot live without Krishna. Thus due to the Srimati Radharani's aradhana , or worship, Krishna can never leave Vrindavana. He runs here and there in Vrindavana, protecting cows, playing with His friends and engaging in countless intrigues of love with Srimati Radharani and the gopis. Thus the word 'avadhavat indicates that Krishna boy's activities, His running throughout the transcendental land of Vrindavana are tightly under the control of Srimati Radharani.”

Srila Prabhupada's purport on Srimad Bhagavatam 11.5.34

“ It is the conclusion of Srimad Bhagavatam that in conjugal love the Supreme Lord fully agrees to be under the control of the devotee. The highest form of conjugal love is represented by Radharani. Therefore in the pastimes of Radha and Krishna we can see that Krisgna is always subjugated to Srimati Radharani's influence.

Srila Prabhupada's purport on Sri Chaitanya Charitamrita Madhya Lila 8.88

“ Srimati Radharani is the center of all Vrindavana's activities. In Vrindavana Krishna is the instrument of Srimati Radharani' therefore all the inhabitants of Vrindavana still chant 'Jaya Radhe!'. From Krishna's own statement given herein, it appears that Radharani is The Queen of Vrindavana and that Krishna is simply Her decoration.”

Srila Prabhupada's purport on Sri Chaitanya Charitamrita Madhya Lila 11.150

“Therefore Vrajavasis take shelter of the lotus feet of Srimati Radharani, for if She reccomends, 'Oh, here is a nice devotee, Krishna must accept him.”

Srila Prabhupada in “Teachings of Queen Kunti”

So, this is our only chance, serving and chanting Their Holly Name...hoping against hope that Srimati Radhika will bestow Her merciful glance upon us...

But first of all

One must know the meaning of the Hare Krishna Maha Mantra

The sastras(holly scriptures) state that chanting mantras and harinama will not give the full benefit unless one knows the meanings of the mantras. One may derive the results of bhukti (sense enjoyment) or even mukti (liberation), but he will not attain krsna-prema (pure love of God). While chanting japa a progressive devotee will always try to remember the meanings of the maha-mantra given by the great acaryas like Gopal Guru Gosvami, Sri Sanatana Gosvami, Sri Jiva Gosvami, Sri Raghunatha Dasa Gosvami, Visvanatha Cakravarti Thakura, Srila Bhaktivinoda Thakura and Srila Prabhupada.

***Chanting Hare Krishna Means Radha Dasyam (service to Radha)***

Srila Prabhupada says

"Caitanya Mahaprabhu teaches us that we should only beg God for His service life after life. This is the actual meaning of the Hare Krsna maha-mantra. When we are chanting Hare Krsna, Hare Krsna, Krsna Krsna, Hare Hare/ Hare Rama, Hare Rama, Rama, Rama, Hare Hare, we are actually addressing God and His energy, Hara. Hara is Krsna's internal potency, Srimatl RadharanI or Laksmi. Jaya Radhe! This is daivl prakrti, and the devotees take shelter of the daivl prakrti, Srimatl RadharanI.

"In the beginning of the Hare Krsna maha-mantra we first address the internal energy of Krsna, Hare. Thus we say, "O Radharani! O Hare! O energy of the Lord!" When we address someone in this way, he usually says, "Yes, what do you want?" The answer is, "Please engage me in Your service." This should be our prayer. We should not say, "O energy of the Lord, O Krsna, please give me money. Please give me a beautiful wife. Please give me many followers. Please give me some prestigious position. Please give me the presidency." These are all material hankerings, which Should be avoided."

Prabodhananda Sarasvati explains in a slightly different way, that while chanting Krsna's names, Gaudiya Vaisnavas will beg the Lord to engage them in the service of the lotus feet of His beloved Srimati Radhika!

"By constant meditation upon Sri Krsna whose head is bedecked with a peacock feather, by chanting His sweet holy names, by serving His lotus feet, and by performing japa of His mantras, we anxiously aspire to obtain service at the lotus feet of Srimati Radharani. By constantly thinking in this way, and by Her causeless mercy, a deep spontaneous attachment will awaken toward Her lotus feet.''

Of course, this is for those devotees who have realized and accepted the service of Radharanl (radha-dasyam) as their life and soul.

So, conceptions of the maha-mantra vary according to the different levels of spiritual consciousness. Each devotee will develop a personal conception of the Hare Krsna maha-mantra based on the instructions of his spiritual master and his own realizations.

The next section More Confidential will present one of the highest ,bonafide, transcendental meanings of the Hare Krsna maha-mantra, which may reflect the reader's existing conception, or create and inspire a new idea.
